BEL AIR, MD. – The Rachel Morin murder trial starts today in Bel Air, Md., putting a spotlight on the late Harford County mother of five and the man accused of killing her.
Victor Martinez Hernandez of El Salvador is accused in the rape and murder of Morin, whose body was discovered on the Ma and Pa hiking trail on Aug. 6, 2023. Following a nation-wide manhunt, Martinez-Hernandez was arrested in June 2024.
An attorney for Martinez-Hernandez, Marcus Jenkins said the trial could be one of the most most high profile in Harford County’s history.
The jury, comprised of two women and 10 men, is expected to render a verdict at the end of the next two weeks.
Morin’s mother is represented by attorney Randolph Rice of Rice Law in Mays Chapel, Md. in the case.
