BEL AIR, Md. – Testimony continued at the Harford County Courthouse Monday in the case of Rachel Morin who was killed while hiking in Bel Air in 2023. The family of Morin and key witnesses gave impactful testimony Friday.
The State of Maryland is making its case against Victor Martinez Hernandez, who is accused of raping and killing the mother of five.
Morin was found dead allegedly in a storm drain off Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air walking trail in August 2023. She had been beaten, officials said.
Developments on Friday included the State’s Attorney revealing data from Morin’s phone indicate she was likely killed shortly after getting to the trail.
Martinez-Hernandez who was arrested in Oklahoma following the killing, was linked through DNA. He said he had never been to the state of Maryland but officials said his phone contains searches of Morin news on the web.
