Flood Waters Hit Jersey Shore at Near Hurricane Sandy Levels

The Jersey Shore hit the highest flood levels since Hurricane Sandy as certain parts of the vacation destination, like Barnegat Bay suffered from the weekend’s nor’easter, according to NJ.com

Several other locations incurred flooding on Sunday and Monday as water levels were dropping by earlier today. Avalon was inundated with water, as depicted by The Weather Channel.

The Barnegat Bay at Waretown hit 4.1 feet for about 90 minutes on Monday — from before 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m — according to National Weather Service data. Its highest level was  4.21 feet, NJ.com reported.

Also affected during the weekend’s nor’easter was Tuckerton’s Little Egg Harbor; the water level peaked at 6.39 feet at close to 3 p.m, Monday.
