ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Staffers working for Maryland Gov. Wes Moore have departed in big numbers according to a news report aired Tuesday.
Moore is facing scrutiny as eight of his 27 hand-picked cabinet secretaries have resigned since he took office three years ago, according to Fox 45.
The departures include key figures such as the chief of staff, transportation secretary, and state police superintendent. While some have retired, most are leaving for other positions, Fox 45 reported.
Ryan Nawrocki, Maryland state delegate told the news outlet that the turnover as “unprecedented” and said the departures may be indicative of bigger leadership issues.
“There are organizations that had strong leaders to lead but they realize it’s difficult to lead when you don’t have a strong leader at the top of the organization,” Nawrocki told Fox.
Those who are unhappy with Moore’s leadership say former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan had a better turnover record.
